The fixed weight PORTIO Plus is an extremely versatile machine for all poultry applications. The modular approach of the next-generation PORTIO makes it the most versatile choice for poultry applications. It features a 300mm-wide belt, with a split infeed to reduce the impact of placing a heavier piece while still scanning the previous one – a major advantage when handling turkey products.
The infeed consists of two separate conveyors to reduce the impact of placing a heavier portion while still scanning the previous piece. This is very advantageous when processing larger pieces of poultry (such as big turkey fillets).
In addition to its top-mounted camera, the PORTIO Plus can be operated with two lateral cameras to create more rounded products – an effect further enhanced by a feature that can alter the angle of the knife from the 0° (vertical) position, to 30° or 45°. Cutting at an angle gives a natural look to sliced portions or creates a bigger plate coverage.
The PORTIO software for the portion cutter always calculates the cuts so as to leave zero waste, and maximize the yields. Conditional programs are possible for increased yields. Combinations of fixed thickness and various fixed weights allow portioning for a maximum yield for all poultry applications.
3 sets of laser cameras, one on the top and 2 on the sides perfectly scan irregularly shaped filets as well as more rounded chicken or turkey fillets. This transforms the shape of the product into a perfect 3D model. As it knows the density of the meat, the intelligent software of the portioning machine is able to instantly calculate where to cut the meat to optimize the yield and minimize give-away while keeping the target weights in mind.
The portion cutter has automatic stretch compensation which guarantees optimum accuracy over the years, using the same belt. The unique belt surface is specially designed for poultry products and will keep the products in place and prevents them from moving during portioning. A quick-release link makes it easy to remove the belts without removing any other parts.
Special designed options can be bolted on to the portioner at any later stage for specific applications. A laser line can be projected on the infeed belt to indicate to the operator the correct placement of the chicken fillets. The density scale compensates for variation on injected poultry products which maximize yield and minimize give-away. The Automatic Product Holder prevents products from moving during portioning. The trim remover facilitates the high-speed separation of heads and/or tails, while efficiently removing even the lightest trimmings.
Intuitive programming of cutting patterns and fast and easy fine-tuning of the programs to get the maximum yields. The visual presentation of the cutting pattern on a large screen along with the indication of the thickness and the weight makes it easy to adjust the program which maximizes the yield.
The MATRIX P software collects all production data from the PORTIO poultry cutting machine and allows to generate production reports. MATRIX P enables users to remotely make programs offline and monitor the poultry slicer status through an event log.
The portion cutter complies with the most stringent hygiene standards. The open structure of the portioning machine for poultry allows it to be fully cleaned using a pressure washer and disinfected on the inside and outside. A CIP (Cleaning In Place) system keeps the belt clean during production or rinses the belts after production. All cabinets with electrics and electronics have a unique air drying system to prevent buildup of condensation. Belts can be removed with a quick release, without the need for tools.
The portion cutter can be connected to the internet, allowing the status of the poultry slicer to be diagnosed from a remote service point.
